Protect yourself from online fraud and scams
Last Updated: 24 October 2025

At FreeAdsBD.com, your safety and trust are our highest priorities. While most users are honest and genuine, online scams do occasionally occur.
Please follow these important safety tips to protect yourself from fraud and suspicious activity.

âš ī¸ Our Safety Tips

1. Meet in Person

Always meet the buyer or seller face-to-face in a public place before making any payment or exchanging goods.
Avoid long-distance deals or people who refuse to meet physically.

2. Never Send Money in Advance

Do not send money through bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Western Union, MoneyGram, cryptocurrency, or any anonymous payment method before you receive the product or service.
Scammers often ask for “advance payment” — avoid it completely.

3. Do Not Share Personal or Financial Details

Never share your NID number, bank account, OTP, or password with anyone you don’t personally know.
FreeAdsBD.com representatives will never ask for your password or verification code.

4. Avoid Overseas Transactions

Avoid any seller or buyer who claims to be “currently abroad” or asks you to send money or products outside Bangladesh.

5. Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Scammers often post fake listings with unusually low prices to attract buyers quickly.

6. Keep Proof of Communication

Save all messages, emails, and chat screenshots with buyers or sellers.
They can be useful if you need to report suspicious activity.

7. Verify the Person

Before making any deal, ask for the person’s full name, address, and a valid phone number. Try to verify this information through another trusted source.

🚩 How to Recognize a Scam

Most scams share one or more of these signs:

  • The person claims to be abroad or “traveling.”

  • They refuse to meet in person.

  • They request payment via bKash/Nagad/Western Union/MoneyGram/check.

  • Their messages are in broken or auto-translated English.

  • They copy/paste the same text repeatedly.

  • They pressure you to act fast or send money immediately.

  • The deal looks unbelievably cheap or urgent.

If you notice any of these red flags — stop immediately and report the user to our team.
